A soul of an artist

A contemplative reflection on the spirit that drives artists—their joys, struggles, and the unending quest to translate interior life into visual language and lived reality.

Where Stones Whisper and Strokes Sing

An Invitation into My World – by Niku

I’m divinely gifted with wisdom and words.
That means I observe life from another paradigm —
whether it’s tangled and complex,
or as effortless as the air you just inhaled and exhaled without thinking.

And art is no different than life itself.
It’s the food we eat,
the silence we hold,
the kiss we press to our beloved.
It is sacred, sensual, subtle —
sometimes loud, sometimes still, but always alive.

Who am I?

I’m Niku, the voice behind Devi’s Nikism.

This is not a blog where I simply “review” art.
This is where I breathe it, where I bleed into it.
Where I don’t write about art as a lifeless thing —
but as a living, aching, divine presence.

Here, you’ll find me writing about:

  • Sculptures and murals that carry centuries of whispers

  • Paintings that reveal what silence tries to hide

  • Living artists and legendary ones who carved history with their hands

  • Art philosophies that stir your soul

  • Forgotten masterpieces that still hum with the breath of their makers

What is Devi’s Nikism?

It is:

  • A poetic lens on art — Indian and global

  • A bridge where Frida meets Amrita, where Ajanta murals whisper to Van Gogh’s sky

  • A space for storytelling — of goddesses and grief, of rebellion and ritual, of artists who screamed through silence

  • A canvas of my own — where I write as journal of my art journey , a lover of beauty, and a critic with soul

What I’ll Share Here:

  • Personal essays and poetic art criticism

  • Hidden symbolism in temple sculptures, ancient frescos, and modern art

  • Artist biographies told with heart, not textbook language

  • Reflections on feminine power in art — raw, divine, unapologetic

  • Conversations between past and present, myth and paint

Welcome to Devi’s Nikism.

A museum of heartbeats, holy fire, and divine stories.
